Audrey’s Top 10 Tips for Selling Your Home

Sellers, start your engines! Here’s an action plan to get your home ready for market — or just for you to live in + love while looking it’s best!

Audrey’s Top 10 Tools for Getting Your Home Ready to Sell

1. First impression. Fresh landscape, eye-catching front door/entry, sparkling windows + remove solar screens. These are the first things buyers notice.

2. Smell. Make it clean and fresh. Clean or replace carpets and paint some or all rooms. Get your home professionally cleaned to give an inviting scent. If pets can easily relocate while selling it is best.

3. Light it up. Replace bulbs and keep lights on while selling your home. Buyers need to see the home’s potential and picture themselves there.

4. Clear it out. Make sure you only keep the necessities. All clutter should be gone. It needs to look as close to a model home as possible. Neaten closets and garages too. Buyers are picky.

5. Just call and go. Make your home easy to show. Agents will put yours at the top of the list when they have easy access.

6. Stage your home. Did you know that at Blairfield we can help decorate — COMPLIMENTARY? This is an added service most other agencies don’t provide. If you just need a few pillows and lamps or if you need an entire home staged just let me know and I am happy to help!

7. Quick fix. Instead of a complete kitchen redo, changing counters and backsplash, fresh paint and adding all stainless appliances can do the trick!

8. Know the market. Ask me for a complimentary Comparative Market Analysis. This will help you to better understand the current neighborhood market and what similar homes are selling for.

9. Spring into action. Spring is the most desirable time of year to sell and many buyers enter into the market a month or two before to start looking.

10. Pick a realtor. Ask friends for referrals and find an agent and company that specializes in your area, knows the schools, amenities and is skilled at marketing and contract negotiation.
