Austin is a Shopper’s Paradise for Unique, Locally Made Gifts

Itching to kick start on holiday shopping? Here are a few of our favorites:

Blue Genie Art Bazaar – Open from Black Friday through Christmas Eve and taking place at 6100 Airport Blvd., the Bazaar features handmade items by more than 200 local and regional artists. Here you’ll find paintings, photography, jewelry, clothing, accessories, glassworks and more. Free admission.

Cherrywood Art Fair – Since 2002, this not-for-profit art fair has welcomed thousands of visitors each year who shop for unique and artful items from Texas artists and makers while enjoying beautiful music and some of Austin’s finest food trailer cuisine. This year’s event will take place at Maplewood Elementary (3808 Maplewood Ave) on December 10 and 11, and proceeds will benefit the Little Artist BIG ARTS mentoring program. Free admission.

Armadillo Christmas Bazaar – Austin’s longest running art and music festival, this 11-day fine art shopping destination features a variety of upscale art, handmade gifts, heirloom pieces and stocking stuffers galore from more than 160 artists. Eventgoers also enjoy live music and two full bars. The event runs from December 14 – December 24 and attracts some 40,000 visitors to the Palmer Events Center. Single-day passes are $8.00; season passes are $60.
