On Saturday, April 29, The Extra Milers — 40+ cyclists of all ages and abilities, including several members of the Blairfield Realty team and the extended Blairfield family — participated in a scenic and fun 13, 27, 45, 65 or 90-mile ride through the Texas Hill Country. It was the culmination of several months of fundraising for an organization that’s near and dear to us: the Hill Country Ride for AIDS, or HCRA. Captained by our very own real estate agent extraordinaire, Matthew Redden, The Extra Milers smashed our goal of $13,750, raising a whopping $26,697 and earning the third place spot for our fundraising efforts.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with HCRA, it is the largest, most successful fundraiser in Central Texas. The money raised goes directly to 10 local non-profit organizations that provide a continuum of critical HIV/AIDS services to central Texans, including AIDS Services of Austin, allgo, CARE Program, Community Action, Friends of David Powell Health Center, Out Youth, Project Transitions, The Care Communities, Waterloo Counseling, and the Wright House Wellness Center. And this year, it brought in almost $421,000 (and still counting: fundraising will continue through May 30, so you can still donate to our team)!
This year’s ride headquarters was beautiful Krause Springs, which was the perfect place to enjoy the day. Blairfield Realty had our very own sponsor tent, where the Extra Milers celebrated our accomplishment and made some new friends along the way.
Despite some pretty fierce headwinds, we all came away with a strong sense of pride and accomplishment. And many of that thanks goes to YOU! On behalf of all of us at Blairfield Realty, thanks for supporting this great cause.
