Looking for a fun weekend activity? Head out to one (or several) of the 35 Austin-area museums participating in Austin Museum Day this Sunday, September 17. Now in its 20th year, Austin Museum Day welcomes visitors to experience the city’s vibrant art, history, music, nature and science, and cultural scene by touring its area museums. Whether it’s enjoying exhibition tours or hands-on activities, there’s something for everyone; last year’s event drew more than 30,000 area residents!
This fun day is organized by a volunteer board through the Austin Museum Partnership, a consortium of museums that in recent years it has expanded to include not only Austin, but also surrounding communities such as Cedar Park, Georgetown and Johnson City.Â
Admission is free to all participating museums. For a complete list, including program hours and other details, visit www.AustinMuseums.org and download the mobile app.
