Since 2002, Austin City Limits Music Festival has been drawing Austinites and out-of-towners alike for three days of music and fun at beautiful Zilker Park. The 2017 ACL Festival will take place over two weekends: October 6-8 and October 13-15 from 11am – 10pm each day.
This year, event-goers can look forward to the following changes, designed to improve your festival experience:
- Faster, easier entrance to the park – Barton Springs will now have three entrances: the Barton Springs East entrance (new) and the Barton Springs West and Lady Bird entrances from years past.
- A new box office – Picking up your ticket will be faster and easier, too, with two box office locations. If you’re coming from Lamar Blvd, head to the East Box Office; if you’re coming from MoPac or coming in on one of the free festival shuttles, use the West Box Office.
- Better sound and crowd flow – This year’s expanded festival area means that crowd flow and sound will be improved, with less sound bleed between performances.
- A new wine tent for you wine lovers – The ACL Wine Tent will feature an expanded selection of wines from around the world, and a shady spot where you can enjoy drinking them.
- An additional ACL Eats location – Now you can find the same great selection of Austin favorites AND shorter food lines. Food vendors will accept cash, credit, debit and ACL cashless payments from both locations.
The last new feature for ACL 2017 sounded like so much fun that we had to list it separately! For the first time, a new Silent Disco has been added to the schedule for both weekends. Each evening from 8-10pm, festival-goers can head to the Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage, slip on a pair of ACL Fest-supplied headphones, and quietly dance the night away to a live DJ set!
And we haven’t even mentioned the lineup! For a schedule of this year’s acts, details on getting to the park and much more, visit the 2017 ACL Festival event website.
