Head Down to Creek Show – Now in its Fourth Year!
If you haven’t walked along Waller Creek in a while, now’s a great time to see how it has changed. Head down to the Waller Creek Show, happening this November 10-18, to view six light-based, site-specific art installations on Waller Creek between 5th and 8th Streets. Now in its fourth year, the show is a magnificent display of the revitalization efforts taking place along the creek as part of the Waller Creek Conservancy and the City of Austin’s efforts to create a chain of newly designed and connected urban parks and public open space.
The light installations are free and open to the public and were selected from among the more than 47 submissions from designers hoping to showcase their work. There will also be live music and kids’ activities.
Once it’s complete, the new Waller Creeks parks district, which runs from Waterloo Park at 15th Street to Lady Bird Lake, will span more than 37 acres and include more than three miles of new hike and bike trails.
