Happy Holidays!
I hope you are enjoying a peaceful and happy holiday season. I always look forward to this time to reflect on what my team and I have accomplished together, express gratitude for my many blessings, and get energized for the year ahead.
Looking back on 2018, Blairfield Realty had another busy year, with over $50m in Austin homes sales. We also saw more and more clients getting excited about buying property in Austin’s surrounding communities, both for themselves and as investments. While most of our business is still focused in Central Austin (and 78704 in particular), we are excited to have new business in Horseshoe Bay, Wimberley, Martindale, Bastrop, Dripping Springs … and of course, Lockhart.
Yes, Lockhart. I continue to be taken by this town’s charms and enjoy spending some of my downtime at the Blair House, a long-term project and labor of love. Tamara Carlisle and I have had an amazing time breathing new life into this historic 1912 home, and I believe it’s a great example of how passionate I am about design. We were honored to be part of the Lockhart Holiday Home Tour this month, where we met hundreds of new friends in our Lockhart community. I’ve had so much fun bringing my design work to Lockhart that I am already searching for my next project.
Something else that has marked 2018 is our continued commitment to giving back to our community. We put a lot of time and energy into supporting causes that are important to us. We’ve been champions of the new vision plan for Austin High School. We rallied around our favorite candidates like never before during this year’s mid-term elections. And we supported organizations such as ATX Kids Club and Step Onward Foundation.
Most recently, we had the opportunity to meet Stacy Johnson, the founder of Central Texas Table of Grace, and learn more about this wonderful non-profit. Central Texas Table of Grace provides emergency shelter services to children and youth in the foster care system. In lieu of sending holiday greeting cards this year, we decided to focus our holiday spirit on helping the organization carry out its very important mission. So what’s next? In all my career I’ve never gone into a new year with as much new business waiting, so that’s pretty exciting and it’s because of friends and clients like you. We have quite a few exciting listings that will be coming to market early next year.
Blair & Carlisle Homes has just broken ground on a brand new construction project in Barton Hills on Deerfoot Trail. This home will be a sprawling single-story mid-century modern style home with all the bells and whistles, including a heated pool/spa, outdoor kitchen, and sunken living room. We expect to complete the project in Fall of 2019. You can find more details about the home here.
Tamara and I also are under contract to purchase a lovely home in Castlewood Forest that we are fully updating. We already own rental property in Castlewood Forest and just adore it. This particular home has great bones, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, and will be ready for market in early Spring 2019.
