Austin Empty Bowl Project is back for its 23rd year. Taking place on Sunday, November 24 from 11am – 3pm, the Austin Empty Bowl Project is an effort to support two great organizations in their fight against hunger. Potters from across Central Texas donate bowls of all sizes, shapes, and colors; 30 restaurants and bakeries donate soups and bread. All you have to do is head on down to Central Texas Food Bank (6500 Metropolis Drive), purchase your favorite bowl for $25 (or two for $40), have it filled with soup, and enjoy a delicious meal while listening to live music by Austin’s fine local talent. The bowl is yours to keep!
Proceeds from the event will benefit Meals on Wheels Central Texas’ Meals for Kids as well as the Central Texas Food Bank’s Kids Cafe Program. The program provides a safe place for children to receive a hot nutritious dinner and get help with homework.
