Let Your Voice Be Heard — Vote!

Fewer than one in three Texas voters — a dismal 28.3 percent — went to the polls in the 2014 midterm election.

According to a recent Washington Post story, the Lone Star state comes in dead last when it comes to midterm voter turnout, tied only with Washington D.C. That’s a pretty sobering statistic, considering that D.C. is a non-state where residents have no representation in the U.S Senate and House and therefore has no Congressional seats up for grabs.

Let’s reverse that trend this November! There’s a lot at stake on the November 6 general election ballot. If you aren’t registered to vote, you have until Tuesday, October 9 to do so. Register today, either in person or by mail. Get details here.

Other important dates:

  • October 22: First day of early voting (in person)
  • October 26: Last day to apply for ballot by mail (received, not postmarked)
  • November 2: Last day of early voting (in person)
  • November 6: Last day to receive ballot by mail (7:00 p.m. deadline if envelope is not postmarked, or Wednesday, November 7 at 5:00 p.m. if envelope is postmarked by 7:00 p.m. at the location of the election on Election Day)

See you at the polls!
