We recently returned to Austin, where we had raised our kids, and were fortunate to work with Michele Roi at Blairfield. Donna and Tamara from Blairfield helped us when we sold our Barton Hills home several years ago, so we reached out to them with our vague plans: we would be in Austin for a few months this winter, and wanted to start looking for what would be our retirement home. We planned to purchase when we found the right place, sometime in the next five years. With that basic background and with no promise of a near-term sale, Michele went to work for us. We met in the fall via zoom and talked about the kinds of things we liked and the neighborhoods we would consider. Leading up to our winter visit, Michele sent us listings covering an array of home types, prices, and neighborhoods and we started to understand better what we liked and didn’t like.
When we arrived in Austin, Michele planned a few of days of looking. She picked us up, drove us all over town, and had lined up a variety of homes to visit. Michele was a great guide for home-buying. She knows the Austin market and has a great attention to detail. She pointed out things in the homes we visited, both positive and negative, that we may have missed. Much to our surprise, we found ourselves very interested in two condo buildings, and went back with Michele multiple times. She was always helpful, never pushy, and made the purchase of our condo easy. Since it was new construction prices were predetermined, but the home inspection and final builders punch list was critical. Michele walked through the condo with us as carefully as if she were the buyer, marking places where the grout or walls needed fixing.
Michele’s help did not end with closing. We furnished the new place from scratch, and she recommended stores, designers, and a painter. She even enlisted her son and his truck to move a piece of furniture we had to pick up. The entire Blairfield experience was, again, delightful, and Michele Roi is the reason why this time around.
