Yep, it’s almost that time again: back-to-school time. Why not save a few bucks and do your shopping during the state’s annual sales tax holiday? From August 9-11, you can buy most clothing, footwear, and school supplies tax free—either from a local store or an online or catalog seller doing business in Texas.
Just be sure to finish up your shopping by midnight on Sunday, August 11, and make sure that items are priced under $100. For details, as well as a complete list of items that are eligible for the sales tax exemption, visit the Texas Comptroller website.
