If it’s been a while since you spent time at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, there’s one more reason to schedule a visit: Fortlandia! Now through January 26, regular admission to the Wildflower Center includes entry to the Mollie Steves Zachry Texas Arboretum. There, visitors of all ages can stroll and play among the 10 forts that decorate the arboretum trail as part of the Fortlandia exhibit.
Each fort was custom-built by local architects, designers and artists whose work was selected from 30 applicants who pitched their designs. While the forts highlight the intersection of art and nature and incorporate a message of sustainability, they’re also just plain fun! So take a break from the holiday hustle and be transported back to the days when you whiled away hours daydreaming and exploring the outdoors. Visit the Wildflower Center website for details.
