“A friend of mine, Jenny, is starting her kitchen makeover and trying to do as much as possible on her own. She started off with painting her oak cabinets white. This is a longer process due to prep work and drying process of the paint.

Jenny removed all the doors of the cabinets and hand sanded them down. The doors are then applied with a primer paint – two coats. Allow it dry 24 hours in between coats.

Jenny then painted each door with Sherwin Williams Urethane Enamel paint, again allowing 24 hours between coats. She painted the doors with a roller brush and found it easier and cleaner than using a spray gun or paint brush.

The cabinets did not have knobs or pulls, which she added. She drilled into the drawers and cabinet doors to align with the hardware that is screwed in. Again, the results are amazing and her kitchen looks like so different. Her next step is to replace the countertops with a quartz top and finish the backsplash after those are installed.”
