One more thing to love about summer in Austin: Sound & Cinema
OK, you may have missed the Goonies and Guardians of the Galaxy, but don’t despair! There’s still time to watch a free movie and listen to live music under the stars—with Austin’s beautiful downtown as the backdrop. So grab a blanket or folding chair and head on down to the Long Center for the last two evenings of Sound & Cinema.
Presented by the Long Center, Do512, and the Alamo Drafthouse, Sound & Cinema is a beloved Austin summer tradition featuring live, local music followed by classic and cult films. On July 31, you’ll enjoy Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, with music from Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band. And on August 14, check out 10 Things I Hate about You, with music from Walker Lukens. Doors and food trucks open at 6:00, followed by music at 7:30. The movie will begin at dark (around 8:45). For info on what you can and cannot bring, as well as how to score prime seating at the event, visit the Long Center website.
